Greetings, everyone! My name is Angelica, and I am thrilled to share my recent decision to embark on a new path as a social work student. With great passion and determination, I have chosen to focus on working with foster children who are preparing to transition out of the system. My ultimate goal is to equip these resilient individuals with the necessary resources and support to thrive in the real world. Today, I want to take a moment to share my motivations and shed light on my role as a mentor with the Children’s Network of Southwest Florida. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of these young people and their families.
Recognizing the profound impact that early intervention can have on the lives of foster children, I decided to become a mentor with the Children’s Network of Southwest Florida. This organization shares my vision of providing crucial assistance to families during the reunification process. By offering guidance, resources, and a listening ear, we can empower families to overcome the challenges they face and strengthen the bond between parents and their children. Ultimately, my hope is that by supporting families earlier in their journey, we can reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system altogether.
