As of July 1, 2024, Florida’s HB 1083 introduced amendments to Florida Statute 409.167, which now prohibits photo listings of children available for adoption. For more information, please visit our website or contact us directly.

Why Adopt?
The Adoption Process
The path to adopting a child in Southwest Florida involves the following steps:
1. Contact Children’s Network of SWFL:
Use the form on this page, or call us at (855) 933-KIDS (5437).
2. Complete the Pre-Service Training:
Attend an orientation session followed by the 30-hour (6 week) parenting program called PRIDE. (In response to COVID-19, virtual options are available to complete this step online.).
3. Complete the Adoption Home Study:
This includes background screenings, an inspection of the home, interviews of all household members, and reference checks.
4. Matching and Placement:
You will change a life for good as an adoptive parent and help a child to grow up in a family where there is love, nurture and a sense of belonging.
