TRAINING
The Children’s Network Training Team is made up of a Director, Supervisor, Child Welfare Trainers and an Administrative Assistant. Together the team provides Pre-Service training to all newly hired Child Welfare Case Managers and Licensing Staff within the 20th Judicial Circuit. Additionally, the training team provides in-service training to the Child Welfare community and all its stakeholders. Topics include a variety of issues that are facing children and families in the community, as well as skill-building for professionals in the field. Examples include Substance Abuse, Psychotropic Medications, Mental Health & First Aid for Youth and Adults, Human Trafficking, Legal Updates, Florida’s Child Welfare Practice Model, Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) and Car Seat Installation. Curricula is developed to incorporate Adult Learning Styles and the Experiential Learning Cycle. The needs of learners are met through a variety of training modalities including classroom, webinars, individualized professional development plans and field application.
Children’s Network of Southwest Florida Documentation Forms
Consists of Supervision Documentation and Field Observation forms to be completed by the Case Management Organization or another provider for the purpose of achieving a Child Welfare Case Management and/or Licensing Certification. The Florida Certification Board Documentation Forms
These forms are completed by the Case Management Organizations or another provider and submitted to the Florida Certification Board by the Training Team.
