🏠Assistance Re-opens for Rent, Mortgage

The program provides financial assistance to pay rent or mortgage. Also offered, for those who are both qualified and approved, is arrearage – meaning payments are allocated for past due bills up to March13, 2020. You must have been current on your rent or mortgage as of March 13, 2020. Arrearage and prospective payments are available up to the maximum of $25,000 per household. Please note that if a household previously received the maximum amount allowed through the ARP program, the household is no longer eligible for ARP assistance.

Online applications for the program re-open Monday, March 4, at 12 p.m. and will remain available until Friday, March 15, at midnight (submit before 11:59 p.m.). Funds are available until exhausted based on a first-qualified basis.

Applicants who reside in subsidized housing or otherwise rent or are homeowners may be eligible if their income does not exceed 140% of the area median income. Both renters and homeowners may receive assistance with arrearage, or future rent, utility or mortgage payments. Please note that if you reside in subsidized housing and assistance is awarded, it will only be for the tenant portion of rent and utilities that is not paid by other rental assistance.

All persons who experienced financial hardship since the onset of the coronavirus outbreak and have a total gross income that falls within the area median income limits are encouraged to apply. County staff will review eligibility and allocation of funding on a case-by-case basis.
